Hard Week...but Good Week.

Wow!  What a week.  All three boys came down with the flu (oh yeah, the whole deal...fever, throwing up, etc.) last Monday.  By Thursday Zechariah and Michael were getting much better, but Isaac still had a pretty high fever.  On Friday we decided to take Isaac in to see the doctor. We are so thankful we did as it turned out he had pneumonia.  Within an hour of taking his anitbiotics his fever was almost completely gone! So now on day 4 of the anitbiotics he seems to be almost fully recoved.  Everyone is on the mend.

Through this trial, we were able to see more clearly God's lovingkindness, His strength for each day, and a renewed awareness of His sovereignty.  Our life was stirred up a little in order to see our dependency on Him, to strengthen our faith, and to rejoice in all situations.  I was reminded (as I need to be so often) that I need to "keep seeking the things above, where Christ is."

"Therefore if you have been raised up with  Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory." -Colossias 3:1-4

so sorry to hear the boys were sick, Jeanine! But glad to hear they're getting better & that the Lord used it to strengthen your dependence on Him. I can definitely relate. I've been sick pretty much this entire new year (just wrote about it today too!), and I know it's stirred me up in a good way. Blessings to you and the family!
