August...2012...Where did it go?

I let Michael know that his jacket was inside out AND upside down and his reply..."I like it this way sometimes."

Isaac turned 6 years old!

New BMX bike and helmet.

Beach trip

Isaac flying a kite.

Zech digging a big hole...we soon had a small pond.

Flying the kite...

Michael enjoying the sand!
Michael and I enjoying building sandcastles.

Tide pools!  The boys made a small aquarium with the dumptruck.  They collected all kinds of sea creatures! (We "dumped" it all back when we were done.)

Beautiful evening sun.

Zechariah, Isaac, Michael, and Grant.

When we arrived home from our trip our dog, Sadie had begun to have her puppies!! (This is them now at 2 weeks old.)

We are undecided if we will keep any of these...it's hard not too. The "father" is one of the neighborhood dogs. I believe he is a boxer and lab mix. :) Our original plan was to breed Sadie to another German Shepherd (that's what she is).  We'll see....

We are experiencing the Lord's faithfulness in many changes in this season of life...Grandpa Charlie's passing away, growing and maturing boys, and growing in the grace of what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us.

Psalm 103:2-5
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits
Who pardons all your iniquities,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion
who satisfies your years with good things,
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle."

July!

I realized I have been slacking on my posts.  Here are some recent pictures in July!  We took a hike around Silver Falls.

Find the BRIGHT yellow shirt...that's us. :)

Hiding out under the waterfall.

We can't help it...we have to stop to throw rocks into the water.

What!?  A cool totem pole!

4th of July!

So far we have been raspberry, blueberry, and thimbleberry picking.  Just around the corner will be blackberries!  One of our favorites!

Thimble berry pickin'

Pointing out the berries...and eating. :)  Fun memories of berry picking.

May Days

We are VERY much enjoying our month of May!  So many flowers are in bloom, Mother's Day is always special, and the sun is shining!  The colors as well as the designs of the wildflowers and even the weeds are such a testimony of God's amazing work...and just think, this beauty is after "the fall".  Can you imagine what the Garden of Eden must have truly looked like?

The roses are from my wonderful husband for Mother's Day, and the beautiful irises were especially picked by my young men.  I am enjoying the contrasting colors.
We have this pretty lupine all over!

We have irises all over as well.  They are such a welcome guest after the rainy season!

The boys wanted to make a compost pile out of the ferns that are popping up.  Here they are collecting them.
What better way to come down the hill with a wagon full of ferns?

Hang on, Michael!

...and of course a little collision is ALWAYS neccesary at the end.

"And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you."  Matthew 6:28-30, 33

The Great Outdoors

Racing around the "track" on the hill.

Patiently waiting for the fire to get going for some marshmallow roasting!

Ready to roast!

Michael decided to try Dad's boots...too funny!

Boys helping spread the new gravel.

Gone fishin'.

We didn't catch anything, but its was still fun.
